Moldova: hackathon

CSC Moldova students organised a three-day camp for students interested in digital technology. Christian students invited their classmates, and altogether more than 90 students attended! They worked in small groups to create digital programs and solutions for various technology projects. Many of the projects had a Christian emphasis. There were plenty of opportunities to share the gospel, both through working on the projects themselves, and also through interacting outside of sessions.

Prizes were awarded to the winning teams of the following projects:

  • Tackling Suicide — Can you use social media, digital ads and code to save them from death’s sting?
  • Breaking Christian Game Stereotypes — Simple fun smartphone game using biblical characters to break stereotypes.
  • Engagement Problem — Smartphone app which helps youth to be more organized and to connect with others.

CSC are praying that those who attended would join their new weekly IT club, so that they can continue to build relationships and share the gospel.

The camp was organised in partnership with Indigitous, an online ministry facilitating the design of innovative digital tools and resources for global mission.

Priez pour un congrs tudiant en Eurasie

Le plus grand défi auquel nous sommes confrontés est celui de l’engagement des étudiants chrétiens. Beaucoup d’entre eux sont la première génération issue des premières familles chrétiennes ; leurs parents sont venus à la foi dans les années ’90, après la chute du communisme. Ces étudiants ont tendance à être apathiques dans leur foi, tout en se considérant chrétiens. Nous aspirons à ce que leur cœur s’enflamme du désir de connaître Christ et de le faire connaître sur leur campus. Ils savent qu’ils le « devraient », mais avant d’apprendre à le faire, il faut qu’ils le veuillent. Notre congrès étudiant ce mois-ci mettra l’accent sur trois thèmes : « Je ne veux pas …… prier, lire ma Bible, annoncer l’Évangile », et nous passerons du temps à regarder ce que la Bible nous dit à propos de ces attitudes.

Nous espérons avoir entre 10 et 20 jeunes, surtout des étudiants et des lycéens, mais cela dépendra de l’autorisation que leur accorderont leurs pasteurs respectifs.

  • les étudiants puissent venir.
  • l’Esprit Saint leur donne le désir d’apprendre à connaître le Christ, de l’annoncer à leurs amis, de lire sa parole, et de prier.
  • nous voyions un mouvement d’étudiants transformés par l’Évangile, désireux de vivre pour glorifier le Christ.
  • nous rencontrions des étudiants (hommes) qui souhaitent se réunir pour une formation de disciples un à un.
