The love story of Cecilia and Franco\nbegan while they were university students in Chile. Both of them were student\nleaders in GBUCh, the local IFES movement, where Cecilia had recently come to\nChrist. Before Franco graduated, his parents moved with him to the United\nStates to start a new life, and the two students pursued their own paths. But a\nfew years later, their paths crossed again. They got married and Cecilia moved\nto the US where they had a daughter, Aisha.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Growing up in the US, Aisha was\nfamiliar with the struggles facing migrant families \u2013 the language barrier,\nloneliness and cultural differences. It was tough.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

But today Aisha is thankful for her\nmigrant background. A recent graduate, she\u2019s now preparing to move back to\nChile for a couple of years to help serve the IFES movement there. Aisha particularly\nwants to help GBUCh reach out to the many immigrant students, recently arrived\nin Chile from Venezuela, Haiti and other neighbouring countries. She\u2019ll be\nworking in four different cities, some of the poorest in Chile, and three of\nwhich have no other GBUCh staff at all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
