That means more than winning students for the kingdom: it means seeing kingdom values shape our cultures and change the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p>The university is\nthe place where people engage with the big questions. The debates happening\nthere today will shape the decisions of tomorrow\u2019s leaders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p>We believe the\ngospel has something vital to say across every discipline, from politics,\neconomics and science to ethics, education and the arts. We want to see\ndisciples of Jesus authentically engaging in all aspects of campus life and\nconversations, so that the message of the gospel reaches and transforms every\npart of the university.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p>IFES seeks&nbsp;to empower and equip students, faculty and researchers to join and re-orient conversations across the academic world. Do you? How can you learn to see your university through God&#8217;s eyes? What would that look like as you engage with campus life and conversations? How would that perspective impact you in your particular discipline? <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p>The course will help you, as an individual and as a member of your local IFES community, to think biblically and critically about your context and your calling in the university. You will be equipped to seize the opportunities and tackle the challenges you meet as you follow Christ on campus, engaging the whole university, as students, faculty or campus staff.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fru.ifesworld.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Engaging-the-university-2024_js_b-722x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33532\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p>As we explore this topic, you will find thought-provoking quotes, readings, videos, questionnaires and worksheets to guide you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p><em>Engaging the University 1: an introduction<\/em> is a brief taster that can be completed at your own pace because it has no facilitator. Once you have completed it, you can register in the three-week course, E<em>ngaging the University 2: biblical and theological foundations<\/em>, and then <em>Engaging the University 3: personal and practical dimensions<\/em> which also takes three weeks to complete. These courses both invite you to engage in conversation with the other learners in your cohort and provide you with encouraging feedback by a course facilitator on your postings and assignments. The facilitated courses require 2-4 hours of work each week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p>The courses are offered in English, French, and Spanish. The next courses will be early 2025, and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. It provides training, mentoring and funding for its \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/lci.ifesworld.org\/en\/catalysts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Catalysts<\/a>\u201d (participants) to lead <a href=\"https:\/\/lci.ifesworld.org\/en\/projects-sparking-curiosity-and-wonder-about-theology-and-the-sciences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">theology and the sciences projects<\/a> in collaboration with their IFES national movements.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block block-core-paragraph\">\n<p>The LCI is a five-year long program, which <a href=\"https:\/\/lci.ifesworld.org\/en\/history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">began in 2020<\/a>, and is working in two IFES regions: Latin America and Francophone Africa.
